not snow bound

so, today's not snow bound, but snow covered and that's welcome, it's a thin blanket, maybe not even enough for shoveling, if i'm lucky, but it's white, white, pure white (almost) and in my backyard which is my view from this workspace it's untouched except where a squirrel has scurried looking for noshes. and it's not earth-shattering, but what the hell is, it's this moment and it's good.
of late, the thorn in my claw is that i live in a country where not only is it ok for the top 1% to earn 25% (25 f'n %!) of the total income, and not only is it ok but encouraged, fed by politicians, that they get more, give them all the best tax breaks 'cause these fat, fat, fat cats give the pols $ to get re-elected and they in turn pass laws to help those with plenty of dough. sound like a vicious cycle? only 'cause it is. you scratch/fondle/cuddle/stroke me and i'll return the favor. in spades. bastards.
meanwhile, i'll hang out here in my (admittedly, not little) house punch keys, goof around, wrap presents for loved ones, and enjoy the season. procrastinate. and procrastinate some more.
Recent read of note, Paul Auster's most recent Sunset Park. In his restrained manner, it still manages to evoke strong feelings for the characters. one of my all time favorite authors and he's really had a brilliant career with particularly strong works in recent novels. Started reading Mario Vargas Llosa's The Bad Girl this week. mmmm, bad girls.

  1. well, this is certainly a challenge. I can't tell which blog turns me on more. Your smart words or dirty dirty words. Consider me smitten.
